Norwegian meets Danish in this very cool work space

Since it's the middle of the working week for many of us I thought a little office / work space inspiration could come in handy! If you're anything like me, the work environment is extremely important for inspiration, creativity and general well being (this is my home office space). This office space has been styled by Nina Hoist of Norwegian interior blog Stylizimo in collaboration with Danish brand Ferm Living. I could work here could you?!

Nina Hoist, Stylizimo, with kind permission.

I particularly love the mix of grey, white, light wood and brass how about you?

You can pick up some beautiful Ferm Living items as well as the wishbone chair here. Or pop over to Stylizimo for more info.

How would you describe your work space?

PS Can't help but notice a trend in black and white homes right now. What does this, this and this stunning home have in common?! The must-have lamp of the moment in the monochrome Scandinavian home: Jielde Signal ZigZag Floor Lamp (a nice little addition to this work space perhaps?!). I'm on it!

Light wood, white walls and a touch of vintage

Hello! Thank you for your lovely comments yesterday on my bedroom. It's always nerve racking to post pics of my own home so I'm really grateful for your positive feedback and helpful tips :) Today's home comes from the Swedish estate agent Alvhem. My favourite features (apart from the beautiful Scandinavian blond wood and white walls of course) is the mix of modern and vintage furniture and the incredible statement wallpaper!

Alvhem

Are you a wallpaper person?

PS I love that they have thrown in a dark green chair into the mix of white chairs around the dining table. perhaps I should do this with my dining room? For the mix I see they've used an Eames DSR chair (15% off with code MYSCAN), the URBAN chair from IKEA and then flea market finds. Quite simple to achieve yet it looks so great no?

Have a lovely day!

Lime green and blue in a Swedish apartment

Hi! How was your weekend?! We had our last weekend in London. On Saturday we spent the day in Holland Park where the girls watched the Alice's Adventures in Wonderland children's opera, it was so fantastic! And today, it's back to Southern Sweden and the last day of our holidays sniff sniff! But all is not lost as this lovely Swedish apartment has brightened up my day with it's lovely mid century furniture, vibrant lime greens and bright blues and it's only 53 metres square, how inspiring!

What do you make of the lime green / blue colour combination?

PS For Scandinavian mid century furniture try Lauritz auction house. The lovely wallpaper in the kitchen is by Svenskt Tenn.

Fun lights and pretty wallpaper in a Swedish apartment

Hello Friday! Woohooo! It's been a long old week so I'm really looking forward to a couple of days off, how about you? This apartment bears the signature trademark stamp of a Stadshem styled apartment - pretty Svenskt Tenn Vårklockor wallpaper in the bedroom. It's also the home to  many cool little vintage pieces and two fab lamps: the Midsummer light and The Voliere pendant lamp by Matthieu Challieres.

Stadshem

Do you have a favourite light?

I've added the food cupboard for all you home-sick Swedes living abroad - Havre Gryn, Vete Mjol, Honung....

So, Friday people! Any great plans? I'll be taking it very easy. Usually I'm not a fan of the Eurovision Song Contest (such a spoil sport!) but since it's here in Malmö I might have to tune in tomorrow evening (come on United Kingdom! You can get more than 'nil point' I know you can!). And Sweden....I'll be holding a little torch for you too.

Have a wonderful weekend all!

A relaxed family home in Gothenburg

Hej hej and happy Friday! The week has flown by! Here on My Scandinavian Home it's been a week of relaxed, bohemian homes hasn't it? It wasn't planned, it just happened seemed to happen that way. This Gothenburg home belongs to Nanna and her family and I feel it fits in perfectly! Nanna writes a lovely blog called 'Så fint Jag vill' ('As nice as I want') which is full of really wonderful photography documenting her days on maternity leave at home, it's definitely worth heading over and taking a look. Here are a few snaps from her lovely blog.

Så fint jag vill

I love the art wall, it reminds me very much of my own one in fact. And also the wallpaper in the kitchen dining area. It makes me wonder if we should change our blackboard wall for wallpaper.....shhh don't tell my husband he'll go nuts! You can see a complete interview with Nanna and more pictures here.

Before I head off for the weekend I wanted to share some fab links with you from around the web.

If you like vintage Nordic...errr hello....you'll like this home.

Speaking of homes (always) my home was featured in a guest post over at Like Want Need last week. it was the first time I've shown a home tour of my own home so I was a little nervous!

This weekend I have my eye on these fab new cushions at LET LIV, the thing is, which to choose?!

I recently won a fab and cosy Dot Grey Merino Blanket in a give-away at Vosges Paris and now I see they are giving away another cosy blanket here. Hurry, hurry, hurry!

And finally, If you're thinking of brightening your home up with some pretty flowers this weekend, how about Quince?

Have a wonderful weekend all, up to anything fun?
